Kerala has not adopted Central Guidelines for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging rates, causing prices to rise between Rs 15 and Rs 23 per unit. The state imposes a fixed charge alongside an Energy Rate of Rs 5.50 per unit, resulting in higher overall costs. New central proposals recommend reducing daytime rates and enforcing a single-part tariff system until 2028, aiming for more uniform pricing.
