India is reducing reliance on Asian countries for lithium battery components by awarding 40 GWh of Advanced Chemistry Cell capacity under its PLI scheme. One company has begun pilot production with 1 GWh capacity. To secure supply chains, the ₹16,300 crore National Critical Mineral Mission was launched, aiming for ₹18,000 crore in investments.
