The Indian government has approved three pilot hydrogen projects in the steel sector under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, allocating around $41 million. Supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, these projects—led by Matrix Gas and Renewables, Simplex Castings, and the Steel Authority of India—aim to test 100% green hydrogen in blast furnaces and direct reduced iron production.
