India is advancing toward net-zero emissions by 2070 with its first green steel pilot project led by Matrix Gas and Renewables in Raipur. The project will use green hydrogen to replace coal in sponge iron manufacturing. Matrix plans to build a 50-tonne-per-day plant, fully funded with a Rs 400-crore budget, contributing to India's goal of 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030.
