Scientists at JNCASR in Bengaluru have developed a fast-charging, long-lasting sodium-ion battery (SIB) as a cheaper, safer alternative to lithium-ion batteries. Using a novel NASICON-type anode material enhanced with nanotechnology, the battery charges to 80% in six minutes and endures over 3,000 cycles.
