India’s Union Cabinet has approved the ₹5,070 crore PM Surya Sarovar Yojana to develop 5 GW of floating solar projects with energy storage. The scheme will support projects sanctioned between 2026-27 and 2030-31, with funding continuing through 2032-33. Projects must include at least two hours of co-located storage, totaling 10,000 MWh.
