Crystalline silicon (c-Si) Solar Cells dominate the PV market, but efficiency improvements are challenging due to production energy demands and emissions. The IIT Roorkee, led by Prof. Satapathi, is advancing silicon-perovskite tandem cells, achieving 28% efficiency. They aim for 30% efficiency with scalable, low-cost production methods, backed by their startup, Perovskite Innovation Pvt Ltd.
