Researchers at IIT Bhubaneswar have developed a novel tandem solar cell combining a perovskite top layer and a TMD-based (MoTe₂) bottom layer. Using SCAPS-1D software, they simulated the cell’s performance, optimizing band alignment and layer thicknesses. The top and bottom cells showed efficiencies of 26.
