The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), in partnership with Delta Electronics India, has developed a compact, efficient cascaded H-bridge AC-DC converter for fast EV charging. Unlike traditional chargers that use bulky transformers, this system connects directly to the medium-voltage AC grid, improving energy efficiency by 3–5% and reducing material use.
