Hitachi Energy has secured a €770 million contract from Terna and STEG to build converter stations for the Elmed power link, the first high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) submarine interconnection between Europe and North Africa. The project will have a 600 MW capacity and span 220 kilometers across the Mediterranean.
