The government may reduce the subsidy per Electric Bus under the PM E-Drive scheme to accommodate more cities without increasing the budget. Cities like Surat, Pune, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru have requested over 15,000 units, surpassing the scheme's target of 14,028 e-buses. The scheme, aiming to expand e-bus access, supports larger cities and includes other initiatives like PM E-Bus Sewa.
