Godawari Power and Ispat (GPIL) plans to enter battery energy storage systems manufacturing with 10 GWh capacity through Godawari New Energy. The Maharashtra facility, costing INR 700 crore, will use 40% equity and 60% debt funding on 112 acres. GPIL will also expand its 165 MW captive solar plant by 125 MW (total 290 MW) for INR 395 crore and set up an additional 250 MW captive solar plant for INR 750 crore to meet ISP and CRM power requirements.
