Gautemala gets finances for increasing BESS mini-grids in rural areas

The IDB has raised $250 million loan to Gautemala in order to increase the electricity in the rural areas which include renewable plus storage mini-grids. The 25-year loan, which includes a five-and-a-half-year grace period when repayments can be paused, has a variable interest rate based on the Secured Overnight Financing Rate issued daily by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
