Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has proposed repurposing used lithium-ion EV batteries for home energy storage after their automotive life. The approach could increase battery value, support sustainability and strengthen India’s circular economy as electric vehicle adoption grows. Speaking in Nagpur, Gadkari also stressed keeping EV retrofitting affordable for consumers.
