Equitix, Aware Super, and the UK’s National Wealth Fund have launched a £500m platform, Eelpower Energy, to develop over 1GW of grid-scale battery storage capacity. The platform will immediately start constructing seed assets alongside a pipeline of projects. With up to £200m committed by the National Wealth Fund, Eelpower aims to accelerate flexible energy storage rollout critical for the UK’s decarbonization goals.
