Changan Automobile (China) plans to begin trial deployment of solid-state batteries in EVs by late 2026, ahead of mass production targeted for 2027. The company’s “Golden Bell” solid-state battery reportedly delivers ~400 Wh/kg energy density and a driving range of up to 1,500 km per charge, significantly above current lithium-ion benchmarks.
