The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has proposed extending the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) transmission charge waiver to 25 years for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) integrated with renewable energy and hybrid projects under the draft Fifth Amendment Regulations, 2026.
