The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has released the Draft Connectivity and General Network Access (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2026, proposing major reforms to ISTS connectivity, energy storage integration, renewable project development, and transmission access. Key changes include a minimum two-hour discharge requirement for ESS, connectivity withdrawal provisions for delayed projects, non-solar-hour access, simplified compliance requirements, faster bank guarantee refunds, and GNA transfer mechanisms.
