The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has notified standard implementation timelines for Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) projects to improve coordination between renewable energy generation and transmission infrastructure. Greenfield 400 kV and 765 kV substations and long-distance transmission lines will generally require 36 months, while HVDC systems will take 48–54 months.
