Chinese battery giant CATL plans to mass-produce its Naxtra Sodium-ion EV battery by late 2025. Sodium, being cheaper and more abundant than lithium, cobalt, or nickel, could power the next generation of EVs. The battery offers 175 Wh/kg energy density and a 500-km range, with over 10,000 cycles and full-temperature range performance.
