Army Plans Wind Turbines Across Himachal Pradesh Borders

The Indian Army plans to set up wind turbine projects at 20 strategic sites along Himachal Pradesh’s border areas, according to a detailed project report. Expected to generate 68,000–80,000 kWh annually, the initiative could electrify 120–160 households. The proposal was discussed in a meeting between Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C of the Army’s Central Command, reflecting efforts to promote renewable energy use in remote and strategically significant regions.
