The harvesting season and general economic improvement helped to drive a 6.7% increase in the demand for diesel in April over the same month last year. Compared to petrol sales, which increased 2.5% year over year in April, diesel sales fared far better, according to preliminary sales data provided by state-run oil marketing organizations.
