Acc. to GOI data, 25,202 public charging stations for EVs have been installed in India, with Karnataka leading (5,765) followed by Maharashtra (3,728) and Uttar Pradesh (1,989) and 271 in Chhattisgarh. The developments are undertaken as a part of the PM E-DRIVE scheme, since out of the total budget of INR 10,900 Cr, INR 2000 Cr is for the installation of EV public charging stations.
