German energy company EWE has commenced construction of its 320-megawatt hydrogen plant in Emden, advancing the Clean Hydrogen Coastline programme. Among Germany’s first large-scale electrolysers, the facility will produce green hydrogen by late 2027, supplying industrial customers. The civil engineering contract was awarded to Ludwig Freytag, Gebrüder Neumann, and MBN.
