PFC Tenders for 4.5 GW Renewable Energy Transmission System Insight

PFC Consulting, a subsidiary of PFC, has issued a Request for Proposal to select a transmission service provider for an Inter-state Transmission System in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, aimed at integrating an additional 4.5 GW of Renewable Energy. Bids are due by November 29, 2024, with a non-refundable deposit of ₹500,000 required. Bidders must meet specific experience and financial criteria.

PFC launched tenders to create 4.5 GW of renewable energy transmission system which aims at developing transmission infrastructure to bolster RE integration in India’s grid. As the gestation period of solar and wind-based generation projects is shorter than that of transmission system, it is necessary to plan transmission system in advance to accommodate increasing demand for connectivity and avoid failure of presence of an evacuation system for upcoming RE projects as lack of evacuation infrastructure will lead to delay in the deployment of RE projects. This project will help Andhra Pradesh create transmission infrastructure for evacuating some of its RE out of total 51 GW potential. This tender will create opportunity for transmission system developers to invest in the state and also bring in investment for more projects of RE being deployed due to presence of better energy evacuation system.
