KEPCO Launches Asia's Largest Battery Energy Storage Project

KEPCO, South Korea's largest electric utility, has launched Asia's biggest BESS project, totaling 889MWh capacity across five substations. The systems, enabling 978MW output, will help manage power generation constraints and provide frequency regulation. Completed at a cost of approximately KRW830 billion (US$627.57 m), the project involved 14 companies, including HD Hyundai Electric and LG Energy
