News Insights

The bid by SECI for setting up electrolyzer manufacturing unit highlights India’s goal to boost domestic manufacture of electrolyzer. These domestic electrolyzer could boost green hydrogen production of India as the electrolyzer, one of the main components of hydrogen production unit would be readily available in the country at relatively lower cost and the capex for green hydrogen units will also decrease. This broadly aligns with India’s goal of becoming world leader in the production and export of green hydrogen. The promotion of setting up domestic facilities under the SIGHT scheme will help to not only meet domestic demand but also export this equipment to different countries.  This tender will increase investments in the upcoming years in the hydrogen sector due to government support and favorable market response.
